What happens when a black, gay teen in a small Kansas town discovers Angel's in America at the library? 

when last we flew, the breakout hit at the 2010 New York International Fringe Festival, is a moving coming-of-age story about family, love, sexuality, race and personal revelation. Written by Harrison David Rivers, when last we flew has received workshops at the Lincoln Center Director's Lab, New York Theatre Workshop and the Sundance Theater Lab.

In August 2010, when last we flew premiered to critical acclaim at The New York International Fringe Festival, where it won awards for Outstanding Play and Outstanding Performance (actress Rory Lipede). As a result, the production was invited to appear in the FringeNYC Encores Series, playing four additional performances in September 2010.

In December 2010, actress Rory Lipede was included among the Memorable NY Performances of 2010 by BACK STAGE, and in January 2011, when last we flew was nominated for the GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding New York Theater: Off-Off Broadway.
